George Bryan of Bryan Bros Golf Sets Personal Ball Speed Record After Adding Speed Toad to Speed Training
George Bryan of Bryan Bros Golf reaches 181.5 mph ball speed just weeks after starting speed training with the Speed Toad.
Speed training has become one of the biggest performance trends in golf over the last few years. Players at every level are searching for ways to increase clubhead speed, gain distance, and push their physical limits. The statistics have clearly shown more distance equals lower scores, which has lead to almost every competitive golfer down the speed and distance path.
Recently, popular golf creator George Bryan of the Bryan Bros documented a speed milestone of his own after adding the Speed Toad into his routine.
In this post, we’ll recap what happened and the timeline that led to his new personal best which was livestreamed on his Twitch Channel.
The Timeline
George Bryan purchased the Speed Toad on September 1, 2025. He reached out DMing us on Instagram saying his swing coach let him know the Speed Toad is the "Real Deal".
He began incorporating the Speed Toad into his training routine later in September.
Within only a few weeks of starting training with the Speed Toad, George began seeing measurable increases in ball speed.
Then on October 7, 2025, he reached a new milestone.
During the October 7th speed session, George recorded a ball speed of 181.5 mph, marking a new personal record.
He went on in the following weeks to continue to set multiple PR's even higher than the 181.5 mph seen in the video above!
For context, ball speed is one of the most important indicators of distance potential in golf. For every 1 mph gained in ball speed, you will see roughly a 2 yard increase in your drives.
Speed Training in Modern Golf
Over the past decade, speed training has become far more common across the golf world.
Players now routinely perform overspeed training (ie Speed Toad, speed training with your actual driver shaft to ensure your speed training carries over onto the course when you're playing golf).
Distance used to be something players accepted as something they couldn't impove much, if any at all. We now know golfers have the ability to transform their game off the tee from being a shorter hitter to an above average hitter with focused Speed Toad training.

Final Thoughts
Golfers are constantly looking for ways to improve their performance, and speed training continues to be one of the most discussed areas in the game today.
George Bryan’s recent session produced a 181.5 mph personal ball speed record after beginning speed training with the Speed Toad just weeks earlier.
